Tell us about your business and the services you provide.

ZayZoh is a website that inspires writers, bloggers, and entrepreneurs to be the best versions of themselves. It includes my podcast Motivation To Write, articles, essays, journal prompts, and writing tips.

Tell us about you.

I taught high school music for about ten years before I was switched to the English department. Although I felt angry and scared to teach what I considered a dry, boring class, I soon fell in love with it! I went back to graduate school and earned a master's degree in English Literature: Rhetoric and Composition. Since then, I've been exploring the power of words and how they influence our thoughts, actions, and lives.

Writing, however, doesn't always come easy to me. My thoughts are riddled with doubt and criticism. After talking with other writers, I learned I'm not alone. Our power and productivity hinge on how we think of ourselves and our work. I noticed I had a lot of inner barriers I needed to clear.

I started my site and podcast, Motivation To Write, to encourage and motivate myself and other writers and bloggers to be self-compassionate, self-aware, and self-empowering. When we change our mindset, we change our lives.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out?

Clarity follows action. So take action!

What is your definition of success?

Success is aligning your personality with your intention and allowing your intention to manifest.

How do you stay motivated? Do you have a routine for staying positive? If so, can you share it?

Here is my routine for staying positive:

  1. Meditate

  2. Exercise

  3. Pay attention to my breath

  4. Write in a journal

  5. Listen to an audio recording of myself stating affirmations and my intentions

What's the one thing you wish someone would have told you when you started your business?

It's totally normal to pivot.

What books, videos, etc. do you recommend for others?

Atomic Habits by James Clear

Your Thought Leadership Expanded

Great leaders are active listeners, curious learners, and keen observers. When people speak, listen. Pay attention to their body language, tone, and voice inflections. Instead of passing judgment, be curious about people and situations. Always pay attention to what life is teaching you about yourself and your world.
